Therefore, it is important to improve nurses’ job satisfaction in order to ensure a productive and efficient nursing staff. The perceptions of organizational support and justice are key determinants of predicting job satisfaction in an organization.
Methods: This study was conducted on 107 nurses of various backgrounds and specialties in Belize during April 26-May 13, 2023. Nurses were sent the google form to complete via email and social media. Data were collected using structured questionnaires for perceived organizational support, organizational justice, and job satisfaction. Descriptive and Inferential statistics were analyzed using statistical software package SPSS 29.0.
Results: Both perceived organizational support and organizational justice positively and significantly affects nurses’ job satisfaction in Belize. In terms of the different domains, perceived organizational support was statistically significantly related to all the different domains at the .001 and 0.05 levels. In contrast, when perceived organizational support was controlled, organizational justice was only statistically significantly related to some of the different domains of job satisfaction such as education and training, nursing leadership’s responsiveness, amount of recognition and amount of flexibility at the .001 level when the POS variable were controlled. Education, Professional title, Average income per month and Working experience were found to be the most significantly related to job satisfaction.
Conclusion: According to the results, perceived organizational support and organizational justice could increase job satisfaction of nurses in Belize. Therefore, it is recommended that hospital management implement strategies that can increase the positive perception of organizational support and justice, such as reward systems and increase in incentives.
