Understandability and actionability was evaluated using The Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool (PEMAT). The results indicated the quality of dieting information was mostly poor. The source of information from fashion/beauty websites accounted for the largest proportion had the lowest scores. And the information from personal professional websites had the highest score. Understandability of all sources achieved the adequate criterion. Most sources were under proposed criterion in actionability except personal professional websites. The quality, understandability and actionability of online dieting information shows positive correlation. Therefore, consumer must differentiate the reliability of websites before choosing information to improve the acting effects and avoid the risks. Information providers have to guarantee the quality of information to create a favorable network environment.
