摘要:	Background and purpose: Work-related TBI (wrTBI) is amongst the most serious workplace accidents, causing significant disruption in workers' lives as well as significant financial problems in relation to medical expenses and income loss. Compared with general TBI studies, the epidemiological information of wrTBI was relatively less addressed. We conducted this review to estimate the annual incident rate for wrTBI, defined as the wrTBI events among worker population every year. Methods: This study has been registered to the PROSPERO database (CRD42020201900). The screening process included papers from the earliest records to January 2021 in PubMed, Medline, Embase, Scopus, ProQuest, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. We followed the guidelines for Meta-analysis of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE) when reporting this study. The annual incidence rate of wrTBI was calculate using the statistical software program R (version R.3.6.3). Results: Twelve studies met our qualitative synthesis and meta-analysis inclusion criteria. Our meta-analysis determined that the annual incidence rate of overall wrTBI was 17.74 per 100,000 workers (95% CI, 0.50–34.99; I2=99%), while the annual incidence rate of fatal wrTBI was 0.64 per 100,000 workers (95% CI, 0.20–1.07; I2=99%). The pooled incidence rate of wrTBI was 7.27 per 100,000 full-time equivalent workers (95% CI, 4.98-9.56; I2=94%). Conclusions: Annual incidence rates of wrTBI and fatal wrTBI were reported in this review. The rate of overall and fatal wrTBI is estimated based on the number of full-time equivalent employees (FTE). More researches are needed to explore the incidence rate of wrTBI in different occupations and countries.
