Health check-ups are heath screening performed by schools when freshmen are admitted to universities. Potential diseases can be detected by examinations as early as possible to help students receive corrections or treatments. According to the reports from health examination data analyses conducted by the researchers in these years, the problems of chronic diseases gradually emerge in university students. University students must take care of their own health earlier. Because of the advances in information technology and the changes in resources utilization among university students, schools should convert health resources into electronic data, which help students to develop health habits, change life styles, and thereby improve their health problems. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the factors associated with university freshmen using the health check-up information system to further construct one that more suits the needs of university students.

This study was a cross-sectional study. The structural questionnaire used in this study was developed from the theory of Information Systems Success Model created by DeLone and McLean. We collected 306 questionnaires from the freshmen of a national university. SPSS software version 21.0 and SmartPLS software version 2.0 M3 were used for the statistical analyses. The results showed that the “Reliability”, “Accessibility”, “Flexibility” and “Timeliness” of the “System Quality”, and the “Currency”, “Completeness”, “Format” and “Accuracy” of the “Information Quality” had significant impacts on the satisfaction. The “System Satisfaction”, “Information Satisfaction” and “Subjective Norm” were significant to the “Intension to use”. The “Intention to use” significantly influenced the “Individual Impact”. Therefore, we suggest that universities should enhance the “System quality” and “Information quality” of the health check-up information system to raise the students’ satisfaction, which increases their intention to use the system and then promotes their personal health benefits.
