Fluoride ion is used in toothpaste because of its antibacterial properties, and Fluoride could decreased oral bacterial. Titanium is a high fatigue strength, good corrosion resistance and high biocompatibility metal, and also used in implant system.
For this reason, we will combine the electrochemical treatment on surface to develop nano-porous Titanium oxide, and use hydrofluoric acid to anode oxidation fluoride treatment. so that the surface of titanium metal produced nanometers apart porous structure, but also with anti-bacterial coating of the fluoride ion. By the research project to explore the surface functional team developed treatment technology is able to have antibacterial properties, while maintaining excellent mechanical properties of titanium and the biocompatibility, and expect to animal effect. The first part is titanium fluoride ion specimens for mechanical testing and materials physical and chemical analysis to explore the electrochemical surface treatment of the sample surface properties, and according to ISO 10993 to test biocompatibility. The third part will arrange irritation test, delayed allergy test t and the pyrogen test animals such as biocompatibility, while according to Japanese JIS Z2801: 2000 specification for antibacterial testing, observation of fluoride ion of titanium specimens of the antibacterial effect.
