The Gram negative bacteria are commonly bacteria in the environment. They often resulting in environmental, food and drinking water contamination and then causing some serious diseases, complications and infections. This study is to investigate the influence of nano siliver ion on antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli (E.coli) cells by means of scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. A standard experimental procedure JIS Z2801:2010 specification was performed in this antibacterial test. The experimental results indicated that as the bacteria suspension with trace amount of nano silver ion exhibited an excellent antibacterial property against E.coli. It has an antibacterial rate nearly of 100%. Furthermore; bacterial biofilm formation assay results also found that silver ion can strongly inhibit E.coli to adhesion on the surface of devices.
