    摘要: Objective: The objective of this study is to identify determinants of sexual behavior among adolescents in Mongolia.
    Methods: This is a cross-sectional study and in total 800 adolescents aged 10-19 were participated in a survey with the use of interviews based on a semi-open questionnaire. Main outcome variable for this analysis was adolescent’s sexual intercourse and assessed was whether they have sexual intercourse or not. There are three groups of independent variables, including family factors, attitude towards premarital sexual intercourse and demographic factors related with premarital sexual intercourse.
    Results: Sexual intercourse was significantly associated with factors including age, sex, area, substance use (alcohol and tobacco) and attitudes toward premarital sex. Females (OR= 0.32) and rural areas adolescent (OR= 0.27) were significantly less sexually experienced. Then, respondents were significantly more likely to have had sexual intercourse if they are 17-19 years old (OR =7.79), have had alcohol or substance use (OR =2.74) and have favourable attitude towards sex (OR =2.46).
    Conclusion: The findings suggest the importance of considering area-related differences when designing and implementing prevention programs. Prevention programs should focus on incorporating topics addressing adolescent substance use and sexual behaviour.
