Abstract: Purpose: To proof that difference enteral nutritional formulas for tube feeding can maintain or improve the patient’s nutritional condition. Design and Methods: A total of 138 residents in nursing home and had tube feeding were enrolled in this study. Seven enteral nutritional formulas were used in this study, and their code was listed from No.1 to No.7. The adequate dietary energy was provided by each enteral nutritional formula for one month. We used body weight, body mass index (BMI), serum albumin, and geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) score as nutrition status markers. Results: After intervention for one month, the No.2 and No.5 enteral nutritional formulas could significantly increase serum albumin and GNRI score (p <0.05). Besides, the No.3 enteral nutritional formula could significantly increase body weight and BMI (p <0.05). Other enteral nutritional formulas did not significantly affect the markers of nutritional status. Conclusion: The selected seven enteral nutritional formulas could maintain or improve the nutritional condition of residents in nursing home with tube feeding.
